Right!! i know i give "thanks a lot" but one last time we would like to give a HUGE thanks to all the people pre booking their tattoos and the support from all the business's in the CBD, were bloody wrapped...Ok Lyme bar thats where its at this Thursday!!! (If you dont know where it is its next to Cafe Valentino) As some of you already know its our first birthday so we would love to see you all down there to help us celebrate our first annum in business haha. Hey guys and girls your support is Hugely appreciated and thanks for everyone that came in with their copy of Avenues magazine for their discounted booking, the response we've recieved from our back cover feature was over whelming and everyone here at Otautahi is pretty stoked. Between the Rock campaign, Print media at Avenues and Canterbury Tourism weve made some excellent bookings, its nice to see some people actually do read my blog haha. And lastly a BIG thanks to all of you who reffered us to your friends and family and gave us the opportunity to put amazing art work on you were completely wrapped. Ok its been a week of minus 7 windchill and quite the ball biter to be fair, the slopes are open but its icy carnage up there at the moment so if your hanging out to hit some powder, id hang on a lil longer or you could just find yourself at the A&E haha. In the meantime whilst the slopes are too Icy email us secure a time and come in for a drawing consultation and well get to work on your new tattoo, its a great way to put your downtime to good use. I have attached 2 pictures of a project piece Dre's working on just stage one for the meantime i cant wait till its finished ity will look amamzing. Stage one involved 2 back to back 4 hour sessions lining it up and some slight detailing. stage 2 i will be the clouds coming to life rays of light breaking through the clouds and more detailing, I will post up pictures if stage 2 soon. Dont forget about the mid winter specials i have posted up through previous weeks blogs.

Well i thinks it time i sign off before you drift off to sleep face first in a cup of hot coffee :)
catch up again next week, in the meantime stay warm and we look forward to hearing from all of you. all inquiries are welcome

Hey guys im back after another long week on the grind, once again sending over 35 pleased clients out the door last week with amazing body art. Iv decided to do something a bit daring for winter; all clients who spend over $1000 on their tattoo, we will give their friend 50% off their tattoo (up to the maximum value of $500) please note this only applies to friends and not the recipient, be aware it doesnt apply to people already booked in. So to cut a long storey short if theres 2 or more of you looking at getting a piece done then be in super quick for this weeks amazing offer (it has to be mentioned on booking to be applicable).
We were stoked to have had the pleasure of meeting and tattooing Drummer for "Super Groove" and "Che Fu" last week, keep an eye out for him in the world wide stage show and smash hit "Stomp" it was absolutely amazing 12/10 and highly recommended.
We finally have a winner from the "Who's tattoo is it" with the $350 voucher on the Rock...well done Dan Horwell and thanks to the 100+ who entered the competition and also a big thanks to Matty and the team at The Rock 93.7.
Our 1st birthday is coming up next week so feel free to join us at Lyme bar next Thursday 6pm onwards and meet the team "long island iced teas all round" we could be in for a very merry night.
Weekly news David Bain finally got the result he's waited 15 years for a big fat "not guilty", theres been a lot of mixed reviews and controversy so i think its best if i keep opinions to myself; if anyone knows how we can get hold of David we would appreciate that as we would love to give him a custom piece to symbolise his struggle and hardship, $150 voucher for anyone who can supply us his details and secure a booking.
A lot of people thinking about tattoo dont know where to go, who to talk to or who to trust. Were here to help "anytime" so if your thinking about getting a tattoo and its your first time please dont hesitate to email or phone us on

A pinch and a punch for the first of the month...white rabbits!!! Ok so im a bit late on my blog this week, i apologise but its just been so busy, we started our recording for the doco last week...it seems strange with a camera crew in your face, cant scratch your arse or pick your nose just incase its on you haha, we will have a 1 minute teaser coming up soon so keep an eye out for that. Avenues magazine came out yesterday the back cover looks great, completely stoked with the end result, also dont forget about the deal i mentioned in last weeks blog, if you dont recieve Avenues in your mail box then you can purchase it from your local dairy or magazine retailer. All ski fields are open and winter is in full swing so if your an avid boarder or a tourist who's coming over for the snow make sure you come and check us out, we offer a warm friendly "entertaining" atmosphere and in most cases once the tattoo's finished our clients dont want to leave. Unlike a lot of businesses were not just about "inking you up" and kicking you out the door, were all about building lasting relationships with the hope that we can look after all your tattooing wants and needs for years to come "hell" you can even join us for a beer or two after. I thought id make the blog a bit short and sweet this week, dont forget to remember all the specials iv mentioned in the previous blogs. Thanks for all your support,
until next week,
Fraz and the team at Otautahi

Wasssssuuuuuup!! girls and guys hope you all had an epic weekend and didnt get too rowdy, arrested, comber out drunk in a gutter, garden or wake up next to any hideuous 500lb monsters...just kidding but not really haha; I would just like to welcome you all to Monday 25th May!!! Monday being "officially" the most hated day of the week, the reason being the brain has to adjust from party to professional sometimes it can be a lenghty transition. The team at Otautahi Tattoo would like to thank everyone who came in last week and got inked, we had one of our biggest weeks ever with doors closing most nights at 9pm, needless to say we had a few celabratory drinks on Thursday at "205 bar" and trust me there few a few seedy sorry looking looking faces on Friday, nothing 10 powerades and 4 nurofen couldnt fix haha. Well well well winter is upon us and to be fair it has hit quite mildy and thank F@#k for that!! There’s nothing worse than waiting for the shower to heat up when your bathrooms core temperature sits at -4 degrees and your piss freezes before it hits the bowl, your feet show signs of frostbite, our daily dress attire turns into puffer jackets and 17 layers of thermals, though within saying this it’s also the perfect time to be in a relationship if your catching my drift, long cold nights aren’t as long or as cold...Let’s be honest some of us love winter and some of us loathe it, horses for courses...all in all if your into skiing and snowboarding then there’s no better time to get tattooed, your piece can heal up whilst your carving up the powdered slopes of NZ, or socialising in warm hospo environments sipping back on some of the world’s best beers. The upside when summer comes around you can walk proudly with your new ink...so ladies and gentlemen watch out were pumping them out in their droves, 30 freshly inked punters a week and growing. Join us and become part of the latest fashion trends, step into 2009 and help us remove the one eyed naive stigma attached to one of the most beautiful and respected art forms in the world...the art of tattoo.

What’s happening at Otautahi
Keep an eye on this site were having a link attached so you can check out our shop in action, basically it’s a weekly upload in semi doco style where you can meet the artists and check out what happens behind the scenes in Christchurch's busiest custom shop. It will have an urban hip hop theme to it each segment will be 5-7 minutes long showing you examples of our finished work, works in progress: in short the trials, tribulations, dramas and the fun that’s packed into the exciting world of custom tattoo. We are also doing a front and back cover editorial in the June issue of Avenues magazine so keep an eye out for that it hits the shops and mailboxes June 1st there’s a 15% discount offered to anyone who brings in a copy of the magazine. Were opening up an online shop so you can purchase hoodies, t shirts, and caps hopefully with a bit of luck in the future “black and white” canvas artworks, we may even be able to supply themed frames for the art. I will update the blog next week so keep an eye out, this is Fraz signing off!!
